Plains Art Museum
The Plains Art Museum is a regional fine arts museum located in Fargo, North Dakota. The museum features a wide variety of artwork from both local and national artists, as well as a rotating schedule of temporary exhibitions. The Plains Art Museum also offers a variety of educational programs for both children and adults, making it a great place to learn about the arts. The Plains Art Museum was founded in 1971 by a group of local artists and art enthusiasts. The museum is located in the historic Fargo Theatre, which was built in 1926. The theatre was renovated and reopened as the Plains Art Museum in 2009. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is a member of the North Dakota Association of Museums. The Plains Art Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from noon to 5pm. Admission to the museum is free for members and children under 18, and $5 for adults.
