A cataract develops due to clouding of the eye's natural lens. As the lens becomes cloudy, usually as part of the aging process, the lens no longer allows light to pass through it correctly. If you notice blurred distance vision, trouble reading fine print or poor night vision accompanied by glare or halos, contact us for an exam.
Our board certified cataract surgeons at Bagan Strinden Vision have a combined 50+ years of experience in performing surgeries utilizing the latest lens technology and techniques. During your cataract consult, all of your questions will be addressed.
We focus on your individual vision preference and lifestyle needs to pick the best implant and vision correction result. We are proud to offer premium or multifocal implants to our patients and have utilized them in our practice since 1999. We have an IOL Master® in our clinic which is utilized to accurately calculate the implant power for your eyes.
We perform cataract surgery as an outpatient procedure so you will be able to go home the same day. You will have eye drops to protect against infection and should wear glasses or a shield for a few days to make sure you don't rub your eye. We will check your eye soon after the procedure.
Most patients see well after cataract surgery, unless they had other eye problems such as astigmatism, glaucoma or macular degeneration. We will help you decide which lens works best for your eyes. The following are questions you might consider before you see us for an evaluation:
